Kang Kong Adobo

My boyfriend is filipino. I know one of the things he misses since going vegan is not eating as much filipino food. It was about time we experimented with some more vegan friendly filipino recipes. We made three dishes. Two of them were courtesy of Astig Vegan.

First up was Kang Kong Adobo. This veggie is also sometimes referred to as water spinach. We purchased it was Island Pacific Market. This recipe is super easy and the You Tube Video from Astig Vegan is available here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGwkaZrk_Kk

Kang Kong Adobo

  • Servings: 3-4
  • Difficulty: Easy

  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbs Vinegar
  • Black Pepper (to taste)


  1. Heat Oil in skillet
  2. Add the Garlic and cook until translucent
  3. Add the Kang Kong (washed with stems trimmed)
  4. Add Soy Sauce, Vinegar and Pepper
