This is year two for Vegan Oktoberfest. It has already become one of the best Los Angeles vegan events. This year it was held in DTLA at a larger venue.
Another change is that it is now a two day event. These changes meant much less crowding and shorter lines. There was ample seating. Unfortunately, not a lot of people used it since it was directly in the sun on a very hot day. There was also no VIP sections this year. A VIP ticket, however, did get you in the event an hour early. Another change this year was that you got a larger stein. This stein came with three tickets which you could redeem for full size pours. This was a nice change. It afforded everyone the opportunity to get plenty of their favorite beers (or ciders in my case). There aren’t as many food option as the Vegan Beer and Food Festival, but still a decent selection 9including Gluten Free). I noticed they didn’t have as many musical performers this year, which I kind of missed. But overall, still a great event for vegan foodies and beer lovers. Also, as a DTLA resident, you can’t beat the fact that I could walk there. I can’t wait for Vegan Oktoberfest 2016.
