If you are looking to improve the quality of your diet, the odds are pretty good that you’ve taken a closer look at what you eat for breakfast – if you eat breakfast at all – and noticed a couple of changes you can make.
They’ve always said that a healthy breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and there’s a lot to be said about that. The right breakfast is going to help you set the tone, provide you with hours and hours of energy, and make sure that you’re able to achieve all of your health minded goals along the way.
In order to help you better cook a healthy breakfast we’ve put together this quick list of tips and tricks you’ll want to zero in on.
Let’s dive right in!
Don’t forget about your vegetables
You’re going to want to make sure that you include vegetables.
A lot of people reach for fruit in the morning, something sweet to get their day started off, but that’s not something you’re going to want to do if your health and your overall energy is important to you. Fruits are loaded with sugar (which explains the sweetness), and even though it is natural sugar it’s still sugar all the same.
Load up on vegetables and you’ll be able to enjoy a much more consistent energy bump then you would with the sugar crash associated with fruits.
Whip up a quick smoothie instead of coffee
If you are in a hurry, don’t be shy about cranking out a quick smoothie instead of reaching for a couple of coffee and hoping for the best.
The caffeine that you’ll get out of coffee is definitely going to help you get through the day (the early part, anyways), but you’re going to do with a significant crash soon afterwards. It might be a bit of an uphill battle, but it’s going to be well worth it.
Drink as much water early in the morning as you can
The overwhelming majority of people out there are walking around completely dehydrated, and they don’t even know it!
You want to make sure that you warrant dehydrated so that all of your bodily systems are running at top efficiency, and that means that you’re going to want to pound at least a couple of glasses of water early in the morning to “prime the pump”.
Treat yourself to some “bad breakfasts” once or twice a week
Even though you might want to stick to a healthy breakfast every single day of the week from here on out, the odds are pretty good that you’re going to be tempted to try something a little bit less than healthy every now and again.
Rather than feel terrible about this approach, instead embrace it with “cheat meals” – you’ll find it becomes a lot easier to stick to healthy eating lifestyles with this kind of approach!
